Fishing in Bad Conditions By Captain Jake Herrin It’s a day with 20+ mph winds with extreme low tides and you are going for Redfish. In the Flats of Yankeetown, look for gaps between oyster bars. The depth of the water may only be about a foot but these gaps you may have three feet. It’s a gatering place for many big Redfish. Anchor about 30 feet away and throw your bait between the gaps and the Reds will do the rest. I prefer drifting live bait (pinfish or bullheads) free lined under corks about two feet deep. This procedure has worked well for me during extreme bad winds and tides at the same time.
